Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how OurBets collects, uses, discloses, and protects information when you visit our website, create an account, join a group, create markets, use notifications, or purchase a paid plan.

OurBets is a private prediction market app for friend groups. Group content is intended to be visible to people inside the relevant group, but group admins and members may be able to see your activity, markets, comments, bets, balances, and leaderboard status inside that group.

Account information: display name, username, email address for admins, password authentication data, avatar choices, group membership, admin status, and settings.

Group and market information: group names, slugs, invite codes, market questions, market outcomes, comments, bets, virtual balances, odds, leaderboards, settlement activity, and timestamps.

Purchase information: plan selection, subscription status, Stripe customer and subscription identifiers, billing portal activity, and records needed to provide paid features. We do not store full card numbers on our servers.

Device and usage information: IP address, browser and device type, operating system, pages viewed, referral URLs, approximate location derived from IP address, logs, diagnostics, cookies, local storage, push notification subscriptions, and service worker data.

Communications: information you send when you contact us, join a waitlist, request support, or respond to service messages.

We use information to create and secure accounts, operate groups, display markets and leaderboards, process virtual bets, resolve markets, provide subscriptions, send service notices, support users, detect abuse, debug issues, improve the app, and comply with law.

We use payment and subscription information to process purchases, manage renewals, prevent fraud, provide receipts, sync plan limits, and operate the billing portal.

We may use aggregated or de-identified information to understand usage, improve performance, plan features, and explain how the service is used, but that information should not identify you personally.

OurBets uses cookies, local storage, and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember your recent group, support app installation, route traffic, keep the service secure, and understand basic product usage.

You can control cookies through your browser settings, but disabling cookies or storage may prevent login, group access, billing, or app features from working correctly.

Payments are processed by Stripe or another payment processor. Payment processors may collect card details, billing information, fraud signals, device information, and other information needed to process payments, comply with payment rules, prevent fraud, and provide their services.

Your use of a payment processor is also subject to that processor's terms and privacy policy. We receive limited billing records from the processor, such as customer IDs, subscription IDs, plan status, payment status, and invoice or receipt information.

We disclose information to service providers that help us host the app, store data, process payments, send notifications, provide analytics, secure the service, and operate customer support.

We disclose group activity inside the relevant group so OurBets can function. For example, group members may see market questions, comments, sides, bet amounts, odds, virtual balances, leaderboard entries, and resolution history.

We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, court order, government request, or legal process, or if we believe disclosure is needed to protect rights, safety, security, users, or the service.

If OurBets is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

You may be able to update account information in the app. Group admins may manage group settings, subscriptions, and members.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, portability, or restriction of personal information, and to opt out of certain sharing or targeted advertising. We do not sell personal information for money.

To make a privacy request, contact support@ourbets.app. We may need to verify your identity and, if the request concerns a group, confirm your relationship to that group before acting on the request.

If you are a California resident, California law may provide rights to know, access, correct, delete, and limit certain uses of personal information, and to opt out of certain sales or sharing of personal information. We do not knowingly sell personal information.

The categories of personal information we may collect include identifiers, account credentials, commercial information, internet or network activity, approximate geolocation, user-generated content, and inferences from usage. We use and disclose those categories for the purposes described in this policy.

OurBets is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information to OurBets, contact us so we can review and delete it as appropriate.

Users under the age of majority should use OurBets only with permission from a parent or legal guardian. Paid plan purchasers and group admins must be old enough to enter into a binding contract.

We use technical, administrative, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No internet service can guarantee perfect security, so you should use a strong password, keep credentials private, and tell us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.

We keep information for as long as needed to provide OurBets, operate groups, maintain billing and tax records, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, prevent abuse, comply with law, and maintain backups. Retention periods can vary based on the type of information and context.

OurBets is operated from the United States. If you use the service from outside the United States, your information may be processed in the United States or other countries where our service providers operate.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will provide notice by updating the date above, posting in the app, emailing account admins, or using another reasonable method.
